Connecting the World to Pacific Seafood
The Sir John Guise Indoor Stadium
For first time ever, the Pacific region will play host to seafood and technology exposition. The inaugural PACIFIC SEAFOOD AND TECHNOLOGY EXPOSITION will take place from 12 - 14 September 2017 at the Sir John Guise Indoor Stadium, Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. The event is co-organized by the National Fisheries Authority of Papua New Guinea and INFOFISH.
Being home to some of the finest catch of reef fish, lobsters, shrimp, crabs and an array of other exotic seafood from the pristine clear waters of the region, the region is expanding as a producer and market.
There is a growing demand for equipment supply and technology advances by the industries in a move to improve efficiency and quality as well as to support food security efforts. The Exposition thus opens up excellent opportunities to introduce products, equipment and technology and will be a vehicle for investment and business opportunities in the Pacific seafood industry.
On the global fishery trade front significant opportunities lie ahead for the Pacific region with major changes taking place in the global trade flow of seafood. The region holds high value seafood catch which are not only popular in Asia but for which demand is increasing.
The maiden Pacific Seafood and Technology Expo 2017 thus is a timely event and opportunity in bringing global fisheries to the Pacific, aptly echoed by its theme “Connecting the World to Pacific Seafood” and thus opening an array of prospects for the Pacific seafood industry.
